1.) Answer the following questions:
a.) Why did King John dislike the Abbot?
Answer:King John disliked the Abbot because he was richer than him. Abbot had more servants than the king had and he spent more money than the king.
b.) How many servants did the Abbot have?
Answer:Abbot had hundred servants.
c.) What three questions did the King ask the Abbot?
Answer:The following were the three questions that the king asked the Abbot:-
- What was the king’s worth?
- How long would it take for him to ride around the world?
- What was the king thinking?
d.) What did the shepherd ask for the Abbot to help him?
Answer:The shepherd asked him to lend his clothes and robe for some days so that he could pretend to be the Abbot.
e.) Why could not the shepherd work for the King as his Abbot?
Answer:The shepherd couldn’t work for the King’s as his Abbot because he could only think and speak but not read or write.
