Answer: Mulan was a teenage girl with great determination. When China was in the middle of a great war it was ordered that each family must send one man from them to join the army. Mulan’s family had father who was sick and younger brother was too young to join the army. Her sheer determination made her to join the army. She disguised herself as a man and for that she cut her hair, this shows that for her more than her beauty she gave importance to duty and responsibility. When she entered the army she proved her skills and became a brave soldier. Even when her real identity was revealed, she didn’t get scared. She fought the most difficult battle and credited her with the victory of biggest war. It was because of Mulan the rule of women not being part of army was changed. Her valor impressed the emperor and wanted her to be his fine royal adviser but as she could not she was gifted fine gifts. Mulan was a true symbol of courage and faith and proved herself that women are not just fit for home they can conquer the world.

 

(2) Do you agree with Mulan’s decision to go to war? Justify.

Answer: Yes, Mulan’s decision to go to war was right. Her father was an old sick man and he could not go to war. On the other side, her brother was too young to be joined in the army. She thought to join army to save her motherland. She didn’t believe in gender stereotypes and broke it. Her gender didn’t come in middle of her decision. She disguised herself as man and when her real identity was revealed, she was not scared. She stood strong and tall and fought the toughest battle. Her courage and faith led China to have victory. She impressed everyone with her valor and sheer determination.
