Answer:The kind of woods obtained from Timber yielding plants are used in making furniture and construction of buildings. Because they are resistance to temperature changes, have stylish finishing and durability they are suitable for such purposes.
Based on their structure, timbers are classified into two:
1.) Hardwood- These are obtained from angiosperms i.e. flowering plants. They are used in High-quality furniture, desks, flooring etc. Example- jackfruit
2.) Softwood – These are called obtained from gymnosperm i.e. non- flowering plants. They are used in making plywood, paper making , wooden boxes etc. Example- pine.
2.) Comment on importance of plant Animal interaction.
Answer:Animals being consumers are dependent on plants for food and shelter. On the other hand plants are being helped by animals, birds and insects in their pollination process. Bees, birds and insects go from one flower to another and leave pollen grains on them thereby resulting in cross pollination process.Also the protective layer of seeds are soften by the digestive enzymes present in the digestive system of the birds. This makes germination of seeds easier. Thus this interdependent relationship between plants and animals are beneficial for both of them.
