= 55.39 ÷ 7

= 7.91 meters per second

Average of maximum age,

(115 + 77 + 150 + 21 + 50 + 3 + 20) ÷ 7

= 436 ÷ 7

= 62.29 years

Average weight, = (68.00 + 2740.00 + 136.00 + 2.30 + 408.00 + 0.02 + 9.10) ÷ 7

= 3363.42 ÷ 7

= 480.49 kg

Average heart beats = (70 + 40 + 10 + 200 + 45 + 620 + 100) ÷ 7

= 1085 ÷ 7

= 155 beat per minute

(b) Name the animal that comes closest to the average in each column.

Ans: Man, Horse, Cat

Solution: No one scored marks equal to the average marks.

**(6) What is a batsman’s average when he has made 0, 17, 29, 73, 187, 34, 38, runs.**

(a) If all the innings are completed

Solution: Total runs ÷ 7 = (17+29+73+187+34+38) ÷ 7 = 378 ÷ 7 = 54

(b) If he was once not out.

Solution: Total runs ÷ 6 = (17+29+73+187+34+38) ÷ 6 = 378 ÷ 6 = 63
