(2) I give the shopkeeper a five rupee coin buy toffees costing Rs 3. The shopkeeper will return 2 rupees to me.
Solution: Rs (5 – 3) = Rs 2
(3) One banana costs 1 rupee. How many bananas can you buy if you give a ten-rupee note to the fruit seller?
Ans: 10 × 1 = 10 bananas
(4) One book costs Rs 20. I give the shopkeeper a 50 rupee note. How much money will he return to me?
Ans: Rs (50 – 20) = Rs 30.
(5) Shashi buys fruits for Rs 45 and sweets for Rs 34. How much money has she spent in all?
Ans: Shashi spend = Rs (45 + 34) = Rs 79
(6) Draw a line each set of coins to the correct amount
(7) Arun gave 2 rupees to his sister. Arun was left with 3 rupees. How much money did Arun have in the beginning?
Ans: 2 + 3 = 5 rupees.
(8) Subodh’s father gave him 10 rupees. Subodh bought a chocolate for 6 rupees. How much money was left with him?
Ans: 10 – 6 = 4 rupees.
(9) Hari had one 10 rupee note in his pocket. His mother gave him 5 rupees more. How much money did Hari have in all?
Ans: 10 + 5 = 15 rupees.
(10) Hema had 96 rupees in the school bank. She bought a toy car for 25 rupees. How much money was left in the bank?
Ans: 96 – 25 = 71 rupees.
