**1) Find the average of 9, 11, 13, 15, and 17.**

**Solution:**

Sum of the given numbers = (9+11+13+15+17) = 65

Number of these numbers = 5

Average of the given numbers = Sum of the given numbers/Numbers of these numbers = 65/5 = 13

Hence, the average of the given numbers is 13

**2) Find the average of 9.3, 6.7, 7.4 and 8.2.**

**Solution:**

Sum of the given numbers = (9.3+6.7+7.4+8.2) = 31.6

Number of these numbers = 4

Average of the given numbers = Sum of the given numbers/Numbers of these numbers = 31.6/4 = 7.9

Hence, the average of the given numbers is 7.9

**3) Find the average of 6 2/5,5 3/10, 4 1/5 and 7 7/10.**

**Solution:**

Sum of the given numbers = (6 2/5 + 5 3/10 + 4 1/5 + 7 7/10.) = (32/5+53/10+21/5+77/10) = (64+53+42+77)/10 = 236/10 = 23.6

Number of these numbers = 4

Average of the given numbers = Sum of the given numbers/Numbers of these numbers = 23.6/4 = 5.9

Hence, the average of the given numbers is 5.9 = 5 9/10

**4) Find the average of first nine counting numbers.**

**Solution:**

First nine counting number is = 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9.

Sum of these number = (1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9) = 45

Number of these numbers = 9

Average of the given numbers = Sum of the given numbers/Numbers of these numbers = 45/9 = 5

Hence, the average of the given numbers is 5.

**5) Find the average of all odd numbers between 50 and 60.**

**Solution:**

All the odd numbers between 50 and 60 are = 51, 53, 55, 57, and 59.

Sum of given numbers = (51+53+55+54+59) = 275

Number of these numbers = 5

Average of the given numbers = Sum of the given numbers/Numbers of these numbers = 275/5 = 55

Hence, the average of all odd numbers between 50 and 60 is 55.

**6) Find the average of all even numbers 7 and 17.**

**Solution:**

All the even numbers between 7 and 17 are = 8, 10, 12, 14 and 16.

Sum of these numbers = (8+10+12+14+16) = 60

Number of these numbers = 5

Average of the given numbers = Sum of the given numbers/Numbers of these numbers = 60/5 = 12

Hence, the average of all even numbers between 7 and 17 is 12.

**7) Find the average of all prime numbers between 20 and 40.**

**Solution:**

All the prime numbers between 20 and 40 are = 23, 29, 31, and 37

Sum of these numbers = (23+29+31+37) = 120

Number of these numbers = 4

Average of the given numbers = Sum of the given numbers/Numbers of these numbers = 120/4 = 30

Hence, the average of all prime numbers between 20 and 40 is 30.

**8) Find the average of first six multiple of 3.**

**Solution:**

First six multiple of 3 are = 3×1, 3×2, 3×3, 3×4, 3×5 and 3×6 = 3, 6, 9, 12, 15 and 18

Sum of these numbers = (3+6+9+12+15+18) = 63

Number of these numbers = 6

Average of the first six multiple of 3 = 63/6 = 10.5

Hence, the average of first six multiple of 3 is = 10.5

**9) In a cricket Test Series of 6 matches Hemant scored 102, 56, 230, 40, 180 and 124 runs.**

**Solution:**

Sum of all the runs scored = (102+56+230+40+180+124) = 732

Number of match played = 6

Average run per match = 732/6 = 122

Hence, Hemant average score per match = 122runs

**10) The prices of six chairs are ₹ 732, ₹ 750, ₹ 690, ₹ 793, ₹ 700 and ₹ 745. Find the average price per chair.**

**Solution:**

Total price of six chair = ₹ (732+750+690+793+700+745) = ₹ 4410

Total number of chair = 6

Average price of chair = 4410/6 = 735

Hence, the average price of per chair = ₹ 735

**11) During five successive hours a car covered 65 km, 72 km, 68 km, 70 km and 55 km. Find the average speed of the car per hour.**

**Solution:**

Total distance covered by car = (65+72+68+70+55) km = 330 km

Total time = 5 hour

Average speed of car = 330/5 = 66

Hence, the average speed of the car is 66 km per hour.

**12) The ages of five girls in a group are: 16 years 4 month; 15 year 8 month; 14 year 9 month; 15 year 3 month and 14 year 8 month. Find the average age per girl in the group.**

**Solution:**

Convert the given number in months = (16×12+4), (15×12+8), (14×12+9), (15×12+3) and (14×12+8) = 196, 188, 177, 183 and 176

Sum of girls ages = 920

Number of girls in the group = 5

Average age per girls = 920/5 = 184 months = 184/12 years = 15 years 4 month

**13) The lengths of 4 pieces of wire are: 16 m 80 cm, 17 m 25 cm, 13 m 75 cm and 12 m 20 cm. Find the average length per piece.**

**Solution:**

Convert the given measures in m = 16.80 m, 17.25 m, 13.75 m and 12.20 m

Total length of wire = 60

Number of wire = 4

Average length of wire = 60/4 = 15 m

**14) A man earned ₹ 8500 per month during the first 4 months and ₹ 10000 per month during the next 2 months. Find his average earning per month during this period.**

**Solution:**

Total earning of a man during the first 4 month = ₹ (8500×4) = ₹ 34000

Total earing of next 2 month = ₹ (10000×2) = ₹ 20000

All over total earning = ₹ (34000+20000) = ₹ 54000

Number of months = 6

Average earning = 54000/6 = 9000

Hence, his average earning ₹ 9000 per month during this period
