The people have the right in India to information and can give their opinion on anything. Freedom of Speech helps the media to take part all that’s going on in the country as well as around the world. This makes the people more vigilant and keeps them updated with the remote happenings from around the world.
While the Freedom of Speech and expression allows an individual to take part his skill, ideas and contribute towards the betterment of his society and fellow citizens, there are numerous disadvantages attached to it too. Numerous people misuse this freedom. They don’t just express their views but also put them on others. Media is also free to express its ideas and opinions.
At times, the information give by them creates fear amongst the general public. Certain news similar as that related to religious groupswhich hasgiven rise to disrupts the peace and harmony.
The arrival of social media platforms has created more damages. People these days are eager to give their views on anything and everything whether they’ve knowledge about the same or not. They write without minding if they’re hurting someone’s passions or intruding in someone’s particular space. This can clearly be treated as the abuse of this freedom and must be stopped.
Every country must give the Freedom of Speech and Expression to its citizens. Still, it must be defined easily so that it only helps in bringing about positive changes in the individualities as well as the society and doesn’t disrupt its normal functioning.
