For the animations, number of effects are recorded. There may be two or three dimensional animations. The software like Windows Movie Maker, Macromedia Director, Flash are used for Animations. There are two types of animations which are Path animation and Frame animation.
2) What is Video?
Ans :- In the video, images are moving with sound is shown. You may also find some video having no sound. With the help of video, it is most helpful in making the best way in communicating with each other and making the information into the more presentable manner by saving lots of time. There are two types of videos which are Analog video and Digital video.
3) What is Multimedia Conferencing?
Ans :- Multimedia conferencing is also known as video conferencing. It is a system were persons ca communicated with each other live face-to-face within the users who have made their participation who are located at a very far places. It seems that the people/participants are sitting together and communicating with each other in a single room.
Q4) Long Answer Type Questions :-
1) What is Multimedia? Explain the components of Multimedia.
Ans :- The Multimedia term is made/formed by combining the two words i.e is Multi (
many may be atleast two) and media (the medias/devices which are made used for
communication, storing, and transferring purposes). Multimedia contains the basic
information like text, graphics, images, audio, animation, and videos etc. Hence many types of medias (like images, videos, audios, animation, text, graphics etc) are been combined to form the Multimedia on the single medium of the same information unit. Multimedia is also referred to as two or more various forms of media like text, graphic, animation, sounds and video for the effective communication or transmitting the information.
a) Text :- It is treated as the basic method of communicating the information with others. There are many components like sound, images, video etc but text is the very simple, the most commonly used data in multimedia. Text are been classified into two types which are :-
- Static Text :- This type of text is a normal type of text.
- Hypertext :- In this text, there are the hyperlinks which are linked with other texts.
b) Sound (Audio) :- It is the most important component of multimedia which is related to the recording of the sound and playing it. It is the easier way to communicate the information to other in a very clearly and understandable manner. The sound (Audio) contains speech, music etc. The different formats of audio are been explained below :-
- MIDI :- MIDI stands for Musical Instrumental Digital Identifier. It falls under the standard category of music and is much cheaper for the musicians. As compared to the music files, MIDI files are much smaller. You may also find that
such type of MIDI files are mostly used in the webpages. - Digital Audio :- As compared to the MIDI files its much good in the sound
quality and WAV is the special format that is used for Digital audio files.
c) Images :- It acts also very important component of multimedia. Basically there are two types of images that is
- Raster or Bitmap images :- It is the mostly used image format that is used for storing images on the computer. It is made up of small dots called as Pixels. Every pixel has two or more colors in them and they form raster or bitmap
images. For ex :- MS Paint is the program in which you find raster or bitmap images is created.
- Vector images :- This type of images depend upon the elements or objects like lines, circles, rectangles, squares etc
that are used for drawing images/pictures. This type of images are been created by making use of a program called as Vector Image Programming. The vector images are represented by small amount of data and hence requires very less memory for its storing, but we are unable to draw such type of images with the help of mouse.
d) Animation :- Animation is nothing but the movement of the images in a time. The movement of the images are done quickly in such a way that it gives the attraction of continuous movement. For the animations, number of effects are recorded. There may be two or three dimensional animations. The software like Windows Movie Maker, Macromedia Director, Flash are used for Animations. There are two types of animations which are
- Path animation :- this type of animation timeline which makes use of the Path Geometry as its input.
- Frame animation :- In this type of animation, the use of series of pictures/images or frames made for the movement.
e) Video :- In the video, images are moving with sound is shown. You may also find some video having no sound. With the help of video, it is most helpful in making the best way in communicating with each other and making the information into the more presentable manner by saving lots of time.
There are two types of videos which are
- Analog video :- It is the original form of the videos that stores the continuous waves of red, green and blue intensities.
- Digital video :- in this type of videos visual images are been moved in the form of digital data which is been encoded. This is contrast to analog video.
Advantages of the Video
a) The information that is provide by such type of means is very effective because it
contains audio, images for creating the animation.
b) It helps the teachers for teaching any concepts or topics to the students in a very
understandable and easier manner with the help of videos.
2) What are the requirements for Multimedia?
Ans :- There is a requirement of hardware and software for the multimedia product
that totally depends upon the budget and the content of the product and delivery
requirements .
a) Hardware requirements for multimedia :- Following are the types of hardwares which are required for the multimedia which are
- Input devices :- This devices are required for providing the necessary guidelines/ directions by feeding/entering the data or instructions into the computer. The input devices like keyboard, mouse, scanner, touch screen, voice recognition system, digital camera etc are required for the multimedia.
- Output devices :- This devices are made used for displaying the results after processing or doing work on the feeded/entered data into the computer. Monitors, Printers, Projectors, Video devices, Printers etc are the output devices which are required for the multimedia.
- Storage Devices :- This devices are been made use for storing the output results/ processed data results. Storage devices are RAM, Hard Disk, Magnetic Tapes, Optical Disk or CD-R, CD-RW and DVD, Pen drives and External hard disk.
b) Software requirements :- In Multimedia, the software is made used for editing or organizing the multimedia elements containing images, graphics, sounds and animation and videos. Adobe Director, CREATE Together, Media Blender, Media
Works 6.2, Play Mo, Multimedia Builder etc are some of the types/examples of multimedia software.
3) What is a Multimedia Presentation? What should we keep in mind before preparing Multimedia Presentation?
Ans :- In the multimedia if we want to create a presentation about the particular subject which should be effective and attractive, then we must write the script. We should make a confirmation about which hardwares or softwares should be made used of and must be used before it goes to the listeners. Once the script is been created, then we look for the important and the basic component of the multimedia presentation i.e is audio, video, image and animation.
Types of Multimedia Presentation
a) Virtual :- This is used for creating the virtuality in the presentation by making a selection of the subject that is based on the subject.
b) Slide Presentation :- Nowadays people make use of slide presentation. Slide presentation is created by making use of Microsoft PowerPoint. As per our need, we can add images, sounds, videos into the slide presentation.
c) Web pages :- In this presentation web pages are been used as presentation. This presentation is created and designed by using static images, audio, text, video, animation etc.
The things that we should keep in our mind at the time of/before creating
Multimedia Presentation
