(1) What are Margins?
Answer:- Margins are the empty spaces that is been applied at the both ends of the page in a document. In between the margins, we can add text, pictures, graphics in the printable area of the document. Headers and Footers and page numbers are the some items which can be added in the margins. You can set the values of the margin or you may get different types of pre defined margin sizes.
(2) What do you mean by Compress picture?
Answer:- Compressing the picture means reducing the fie size by lowering the picture resolution, and deleting the cropped areas in the picture.
(3) Write about Reset picture?
Answer:- Reset picture will help the picture to look in the previous way as it was before performing the operations/ tasks of formatting to the picture. All the formatting done/applied to the picture gets removed.
(4) What is Crop option?
Answer:- Crop option is used for removing the unwanted part from the picture.
(5) Give the name of two page orientation in MS Word?
Answer:- Portrait and Landscape are the two types of page orientation in MS Word.
(6) Write the name of various options available in the adjust group of Picture tools format tab.
Answer:- Corrections, Color, Artistic effects, Compress picture, Change picture, Reset picture, Remove background are the various options that are available in the adjust group of Picture tools on the Format tab.
Q4) Long Answer Type Questions :-
(1) What is Water-Mark? Write the Steps to add a watermark in a word document?
Answer:- This are text or pictures that appears at the back of the page in a document. Draft and Confidential is used for identifying the status of the document. In Word, you may get the facility of inserting/ adding the pre-designed watermark from the watermark gallery or the custom water mark in which we can make the text or logo as a watermark. We can also add the text as a watermark. Watermark is also known as ghosted text. Following are the steps which are used for adding the watermarks in the document :-
(a) You can find the Watermark option in the Page background group under the Page Layout tab.
(b) Do any one of the following :- Click a predesigned watermark such as Confidential or Do not Copy in the watermark gallery. Click on the custom watermark, click text watermark and then select the text or type the text that we want. The text that is typed can be formatted.
The watermarks can be viewed only in the Print Layout or Full Screen Reading views on the printed page.
(2) Write the steps to run a Spelling and Grammar check?
Answer:- As we are typing in the document sometimes we make grammatical as well as spelling mistake. Spelling mistakes can happen take place as if the not knowing the correct spelling or typing in a hurry manner. There is a facility in MS Word that provides the user to automatically correct the spelling and grammar mistake. If incase the wrong spelling is typed/mistake is happened, then word will automatically show it with red color wavy line underneath the word. To correct the wrong spelt word, simply we have to place the cursor/take our mouse pointer at the word that is be corrected. Press the right click button of the mouse, and you’ll find some word suggestion in relation to the misspelt word, select the appropriate word. The wrong spelt word is replaced by the appropriate selected word. If incase there’s no availability of correct word in the Microsoft Word, then we can instruct that word written by us is correct and similar words are there in the file, which show that it should not treated as incorrect, but the correct word is not been added into the dictionary. If there’s appearance of any spelling mistake within the document, then it is highlighted with a red wavy line underneath the wrong spelt word whereas the grammatical error is spotted with the green wavy line. The steps to run a Spelling and Grammar are as followed :-
(a) On the Review tab, under Proofing group you may find the Spelling and Grammar command.
(b) Make a click on the Spelling and Grammar command.
(c) The Spelling and Grammar dialog box gets open up.
(d) In the box you may find the suggestions against the mistaken/incorrect word.
(e) We can select any of the suggestion and click on the option a s Change to correct the error.
(f) If incase there is no suggestion given for the incorrect word, then we have to type the correct word manually.
(3) Explain the steps to Print a Document?
Answer:- The method in printing a page is :-
(a) Open the file/page that you want to print.
(b) Now go to the File menu on the Menu bar which is below the Title bar and select an option as Print otherwise you can press Ctrl + P shortcut key from the keyboard.
(c) A print dialog box opens up where we have to specify the page range (from to where we want to print), margin settings, page orientation (landscape or Portrait).
(d) Set the page size on which you want a print like A4, letter, legal etc.
(e) Click on Print button.
