Possessive nouns refer to the possession, ownership and relationship by adding apostrophe and s t the end of a noun. The possessive case of nouns is also called adjective case or determiners. Possessive nouns are used to give answers for ‘whose’ in a sentence.
Nouns are used after possessive nouns for denoting the source of the specific nouns.

vii) When plural nouns end with s then its compound forms are made by adding apostrophe only- girls’ school, horses’ shelter, birds’ nest etc.
viii) When the syllable of word ends with ‘s’ or ‘ce’ followed by sake then only apostrophe is used with them.- goodness’ sake, conscience’ sake, justice’ sake etc.
ix) If a singular noun begins and ends with‘s’ then only apostrophe will be used.- Moses’ law, Keats’ poem etc.
