(c) 32400
(d) 8900
Ans:
(b) 25600
Perimeter of a square = 4 × side
640m = 4 × side
= side = 160m
Are of the square = (side)2
= (160)2 = 25600m
Question 2:
Find the area of rectangle,
If length of the rectangle 12cm and breadth is 8cm
(a) 8.9 cm
(b) 48 cm
(c) 56 cm
(d) 96 cm
Ans:
Area of rectangle = l × b
= 12×8 = 96 cm (d)
Question = 3:
Find the perimeter of the rectangle if length and breadth are 6cm and 4cm
(a) 20cm
(b) 22cm
(c) 24cm
(d) 26cm
Ans:
(a) 20cm
Perimeter of the rectangle = 2 (l × b)
= 2 (6+4)
= 2 (10) = 20cm
Question 4:
The perimeter of the rectangular sheet is 200cm. if the length is 40 cm find its breadth.
(a) 70
(b) 60
(c) 80
(d) 90
Ans:
(b) 60cm
Perimeter of the rectangle = 2 (l + b)
= 2 (40 + b)
200cm/2 = 40 + b
100cm = 40 + b
b = 60c (b)
Question 5:
Find the height ‘x’ if the area of the parallelogram is 36cm2 and the base is 9cm.
(a) 4cm
(b) 6cm
(c) 8cm
(d) 9cm
Ans:
(a) 4cm
Area of parallelogram = b×b
Therefore, 36 = 9 × x
x = 4cm
Question 6:
In △PQR, PR = 9cm, QR = 6cm and PL = 9cm.
Find the answer of following question from the given figures.
Find the area of △PQR
(a) 27 cm2
(b) 25 cm2
(c) 24 cm2
(d) 21 cm2
Ans:
QR = base 6cm, PL = height = 9cm
Area of the △PQR = ½ × b × h
= ½ × 6xm × 9cm
(a) = 27 cm2
Question 7:
QM = Height =? Area = 27cm2
(a) 5 4/3 cm
(b) 4 3/4 cm
(c) 5 ¾ cm
(d) 6 ¾ cm
Ans:
Area of triangle = ½ × b × h = ½ × 8 × h
27 = ½ × 8 × h
27/4 = h = 6 3/4 cm (d)

Question 8:
Find the area of the triangle if the height and breadth is 8cm and 5cm
(a) 24 cm2
(b) 20 cm2
(c) 28 cm2
(d) 36 cm2
Ans:
Area of the triangle = ½ × b × h
= ½ × 5 × 8
(b) = 20 cm2
Question 9:
Find the area of the parallelogram if the breadth and height of the parallelogram is 12cm and 18cm.
(a) 216 cm2
(b) 243 cm2
(c) 462 cm2
(d) 562 cm2
Ans:
Find the area of the parallelogram = b × h
= 12 × 18
(a) = 216 cm2
Question 10:
Find the area of circle of radius 40 cm
(a) 5216 cm2
(b) 5024 cm
(c) 5932 cm2
(d) 6932 cm2
Ans:
The area of circle = πr2
(π = 3.14) = (3.14) × (40)2 cm2
= 3.14 × 1600 cm2
= (b) 5024 cm2
Question 11:
What is the circumference of a circle of diameter 20cm (π = 3.14)?
(a) 62.8 cm
(b) 6.28 cm
(c) 0.628 cm
(d) 628 cm
Ans:
(a) 62.8 cm circumference of the circle = πd
= 3.14 × 20 cm
= 62.8 cm
Question 12:
What is the circumference of a circular disc of radius 21cm? (π = 3.14)
(a) 158 cm
(b) 132 cm
(c) 152 cm
(d) 192 cm
Ans:
(b) 132 cm
Radius of circular of disc = 21 cm
= circumference of disc = 2πr
π = 22/7 = 2 × 22/7 × 21 cm
= 2 × 22 × 3 cm
(b) = 132 cm
Question 13:
A rectangle garden is 30m long and 20m wide. A path 2.5m wide is constructed outside the garden find the area of the path.
(a) 729 m2
(b) 428 m2
(c) 275 m2
(d) 875 m2
Ans:
Let ABCD represent the rectangular garden and the shaded region represent the path 2.5 wide.
We have,
PQ = (30+2.5+2.5) m = 35 m
PS = (20 + 2.5 + 2.5) m = 25
Area of the rectangle ABCD = 1×b = 30×20m
Area of the rectangle PQRS = 600 m2
= l×b = 35 × 25 m2 = 875 m2
Area of the path = 875m2 -600m2 = 275 m2
Question 14:
Diameter of a circular garden is 4.2m.
Find its area?
(a) 13
(b) 13.86
(c) 13.4
(d) 13.8
Ans:
Diameter d = 4.2 m
And radius is = 4.2/2 = 2.1m
Area of the circle = πr2 = 22/7 × (2.1)2
= 22/7 × 4.41
= 13.86m (b)
Question 15:
What is circumference of the circular disc of radius 28? (π = 22/7)
(a) 174
(b) 189
(c) 176
(d) 184
Ans:
(c) 176,
Radius of circular disc = 28cm
Circumference of disc = 2πr
= 2 × 22/7 × 28
(c) = 176 cm
