Paragraph on Amartya Sen
Amartya Sen was an Indian economist who had a lot of contributions in the welfare economics. He even was awarded Nobel Prize in 1998. He also had great interest in helping out the poor people of the society. He is best known for his contribution during the famine, which sorted out practical solutions for preventing and limiting effects of shortage of food.
He graduated from Trinity College Cambridge where he received B.A, M.A, and Ph.D. he taught economics in number of Universities both India and Abroad. This major work included “collective choice and social welfare”, poverty and famine”, “Rotationally and freedom” etc. He devoted his career to issues on the well-being of the communities which was called “Conscience of his profession”. He witnessed the Bengal famine at a very small age where there was extreme food crisis and loss of jobs. So he always worked for the improvement of health and education.
