New Learning Composite Mathematics Class 6 SK Gupta Anubhuti Gangal Ratio Proportion and Unitary Method Chapter 8C Solution
(3) Let, the total students of the school be x
Sum of the ratio = 3+2
= 5
According to statement,
x X 3/5 = 600
Or, 3x = 600 X 5
Or, x = 600X5/3
∴ x = 1000
∴ No. of girls = (1000 – 600)
= 400
Ans – No. of girls is 400
(4) Let the perimeter of the triangle be x
Sum of the ratio = 1+1.5+2
= 4.5
According to statement,
x X 2/4.5 = 8
Or, 2x = 4.5 X 8
Or, x = 4.5 X 8/2 X 10
= 18
∴ The smallest side = (18X 1/4.5) cm
– 18 X 10/45 cm
= 4
∴ The another side = {18 – (8+4)} cm
= 18 – 12 cm
= 6
Ans – The two sides are 4 cm and 6 cm.
(5) Sum of the ratio = 5+7
= 12
The first no = 132 X 5/12
= 55
The second no = 132 X 7/12
= 77
Ans – The two numbers are 55 and 77
