Working with the poem
1.) Read the first stanza and think.
(i) Is Macavity a cat really?
Answer: Macavity is a mysterious cat
(ii) If not, who can Macavity be?
Answer: If not, Macavity can be a master criminal.
2.) Complete the following sentences.
(i) A master criminal is one who defies the law.
(ii) The Scotland Yard is baffled because Macavity is not present at the spot.
(iii) Flying Squad cannot catch him because Macavity moves much faster than them.
3.) “A cat, I am sure, could walk on a cloud without coming through”.(Jules Verne)

Answer: Macavity is a tall and thin cat. His eyes are sunken and his eyebrows are deeply lined with thoughts. He is careless as his whiskers are uncombed and coat is full of dust. His movements resembles of a snake.
