1.) Stem absorbs water and minerals from soil.

-Roots absorbs water and minerals.

2.) Leaves hold the plant upright.

-Stem hold the plant upright.

3.) Roots conduct water to leaves.

-Stem conduct water to leaves.

4.) The number of petals and stamens in flower are equal.

-The number of petals and sepals in flower are equal.

5.) If the sepals of flower are joined together, it’s petals are also joined.

-If the sepals of flower are joined together, it’s petals are not joined.

6.) If petals of a flower are joined together, then the pistil is joined to petal.

Q4. What is function of stem?

Ans- The stem is the part of flower which is very important to the growth of flower. The stem has most essential function which is it helps in the uptake of water or upward movement of water to the leaves. The water and minerals reaches the leaves and other parts of flowers attached to the stem.

Q5. Which of the following leaves have reticulate venation?

Wheat, tulsi, maize, grass, coriander(dhania), china rose Ans- The reticulate venation is the leaves which have taproots. From this the reticulate venation is observed in the leaves of tulsi, coriander and China rose.

Q6. If plant have fibrous root, what type of venation it’s leaves have?

Ans- If the plants have fibrous root, the parallel type of venation is observed in its leaves.

Q7. If plant has leaves with reticulate venation, what kinds of roots will it have?

Ans- If plant has leaves with reticulate venation then it will have taproots.

Q8. Is it possible for you to find out whether a plant has tap root or fibrous root by looking at the impression of its leaf on a sheet of paper?

Ans- Yes, it is possible to find out a plant has tap root or fibrous root by looking at its leaf impression because tap roots are in form of reticulate venation and the fibrous roots are in the form of parallel venation.

Ans- There are four main parts of flower which are as follows:-

Grass, maize, wheat, chilli, tomato, tulsi, peepal, shisham, banyan, mango, jamun, guava, pomegranate, papaya, banana, lemon, sugarcane, potato, groundnut.

Ans- Mostly the plants have flowers from these given plants. All the above plants given have the flowers.

Q11. Name the parts of plant which produces food. Name the process

Ans- The part of plant which produce food is stem. The food is prepared by leaves and travelled to the stem. This process is known as the two way traffic street.

Q12. In which part of plant you will find the ovary?

Ans- Ovary is found in the part of plant called pistil.

Q13. Name two plants in which one have joined sepals and other has separate sepals.

Ans- Based on the characters of plant, these are classified into three categories:-

  • Herbs- Plants with green and tender stems are called as herbs. These plants are usually short and may not have branches.
  • Shrubs- The plants which at the stem base develop branches are called as shrubs. The stem of these plants is hard but not very thick.
  • Trees- The plants which are tall, have thick and hard stem with branches are called as trees.

Ans- Transpiration is the process in which the water comes from leaves in the form of vapour. The lot of water is released from plants in this process and this water is evaporated and in the form of vapour it comes out.

1.) Photosynthesis: The process in which the plants take carbon dioxide in the presence of sunlight and the oxygen is given out.

2.) Climber: The plants which take support and climb up are called as climber.

3.) Creeper: The plants which have weak stem that cannot stand upright but can spread on ground is called as creeper.

4.) Leaf venation: The design which is made by the midribs of leaf is known as leaf venation.

Q4. Explain the plant part pistil.

Ans- The innermost part of the flower is called as pistil. Pistil is the one of the main part of plant. The pistil contains three main parts stigma, style and ovary. Stigma is the part where the pollen grains fall on it. The ovary has ovules inside it which are small bid like structures. Style is the part which gives support to the flower.
