Q1) Answer the following questions:-
(a) The angle of inclination of the earth’s axis with its orbital plane is 66 and half degree.
(b) The movement of the earth on its axis ic called Rotation and the movement of the earth around the sun in a fixed path is called Revolution.
(c) Six hours saved every year are added to make one day over a span of four years, this surplus day is added to February in every fourth year. Thus February is of 29 days instead of 28 days, and the year has 366 days instead of 365 days, such year is called leap year.
(d) Position of Earth when in the Southern Hemisphere all the conditions are reserved. It is winter now, the nights are longer than the days, this position of earth is called summer solstice. Position of earth when in the Northern Hemisphere all the conditions are reversed , It summer now, the days are longer than the nights, this position of earth is called winter solstice.
(e) When neither of the poles is tilted towards the sun and the whole earth experiences equal days and equal nights this is called equinox.
(f) The southern Hemisphere experience winter and summer solstice in different time than that of the Northern Hemisphere because of the revolution of the earth. The position of the earth around the sun is not the same. It changes.
(g) Due to the revolution of earth around the sun, the poles experience about 6 months of day and 6 months of night. It takes 12 months to complete one revolution.
