(1) The monkey was happy living in the fruit. But his happiness was not complete. What did he miss?

Answer:- The monkey was happy living in the fruit tree, but he wanted a companion to talk to and share the fruits with him. But there was no one around. So he missed a companion, a friend.

(2) What did the two friends’ generally talk about?

Answer:- They talked about birds, animals, villages, nearly and their difficulties, villagers faced in raising good crops for lack of rain.

(3) Why was the crocodile’s wife annoyed with her husband one day?

Answer:- The crocodiles wife annoyed with her husband one day because her husband crocodile stayed with the monkey longer than usual and came home late.

Answer:- The crocodile was unwilling to invite his friend home because his wife wanted to east the monkey’s heart. And he could not betray his best friend.

Answer:- In the middle of the river the crocodile told the monkey that his real intention for inviting the monkey at their home to kill him. Because his wife wanted to eat the monkey’s heart otherwise she can’t survive.

Answer:- The monkey saved himself by keeping a cool head and telling the crocodile that he left his heart on the tree. The foolish crocodile took the monkey back to the river bank, and reaching on the tree and heaved a deep sigh of relief.

Answer:- The last sentence of the story suggests that the crocodile had realised his mistake. The crocodile could tell his wife how foolish he had been in listening to his wife and in this way he losing a good friend like monkey, because monkey had left him.
