In what way is Pambupatti different from any other village?

Answer:

Pambupatti is a peaceful village, inhabited by a variety of people. The people of other villagers started fighting with one another. But people of Pambupatti lived peacefully, they did not fight in the name of religion or language. In this way, Pambupatti is different from any other village.

Question 2.

Why is Prem determined not to return to his village?

Answer:

Prem had left his village when the people of his village went mad. They started fighting with one another. One night there was a fire, many houses were burnt down in the fire, one of them was Prem’s house. So, prem is determined not to return to his village.

Question 3.

Why did Makara dislike tortoises, snakes and lizards left the forest?

Answer:

Makara dislike tortoises because they were slow thoughtful but stupid. They even carried their houses on their backs. Makara disliked snakes because they were slimy and they made funny noises. Makara disliked lizards because they were undependable as they changed colour.

What went wrong when the tortoises. Snakes and lizards left the forest?

Answer:

There come a tough time in the forest. Very soon, a strange smell began to filled the forest. It was the smell of rotting fruits on the ground, rotting animals in the river, because the absence of tortoises. Now that there were no snakes to eat the rats, they had taken over the forest. The rats ate up the eggs of lizards and crocodiles. They became fearless and the insects, as the lizards were gone, there were millions of them, growing bigger and nastier day by day. Because the tortoises, snakes and lizards left the forest, all kinds of awful things began to happen.

Question 5.

Why do you think Prem wants to tell the story of the reptiles to the people of his village?

Answer:

The people of Prem’s village had gone mad. They fought with one another in the name of religion. The story of Pambupatti gave the message of peace. The villagers might remember this and story and characters one day and understood that the importance of living together. That’s why prem wanted to told the story of the reptiles to the people of his village.
