1) Who does Lencho have complete faith in? Which sentences in the story tell you this?
Ans) Lencho had complete faith in God.
‘’Lencho showed not the slightest surprise on seeing the money; such was his confidence — but he became angry when he counted the money. God could not have made a mistake, nor could he have denied Lencho what he had requested.’’ – These sentences proved that Lencho had complete faith in God.
2) Why does the postmaster send money to Lencho? Why does he sign the letter ‘God’?
Ans) The postmaster was amazed to see the unshakable faith of Lencho on God . But he was much aware of the reality and to help Lencho the postmaster send money to him.
Lencho was expecting a reply from God and to keep the authenticity of the letter, sent by the postmaster himself was signed under the name of God.
3) Did Lencho try to find out who had sent the money to him? Why/Why not?
Ans) No, Lencho did not try to find out the secret behind the money sent to him and about the sender as he had an unshakable faith on God. He had a complete faith that God would surely reply him.
4) Who does Lencho think has taken the rest of the money? What is the irony in the situation?
Ans) Lencho thought the post office stuffs were disloyal and had taken the rest of the money.
Here the irony of the situation was-those who were blamed for stolen the money were the actual helper.
5) There are two kinds of conflict in the story: between humans and nature, and between humans themselves. How are these conflicts illustrated?
Ans)There are two kinds of conflict in the story-one is in between humans and nature and the other one is in between humans themselves. First one started when Lencho the protagonist of the story expected for a huge rain as a beneficiary of his corn field but instead of rain drops hailstorm came and destroyed his expectations.
Later the second conflict took place when The post-office stuffs without any expectations helped Lencho to pay respect and keep his unshakable faith on God but were mistaken as unfaithful by him only.
