Nastic movement can be defined as the non directional movement of plants in response to the external stimulus such as light and temperature. The nastic movement is based on their bending divided into 2 types such as epinasty and hyponasty.
Epinasty : It is the general term denotes to leaves in which leaves bend or curve in the downward side.
Hyponasty : The term used to denote the leaves which bend in upward direction.
Nastic movement can be divided into 5 types. Namely, photonastic movement, thigmonastic movement, Nyctinastic movement, thermonastic movement and seismonastic movement. Lets discuss the nastic movement of plants. The nastic movement in plants is due to ethylene hormone.
1.) Photonastic movement :It can be defined as the movement of plant or parts of a plant in response to light. For example growth of flowers in response to sunlight. Flower grows towards the sunlight direction.
2.) Thigmonasty movement :This kind of movement in response to the stimuli such as touch. The plants will response in non directional way. It has no effect whether the stimulus from which side. It will not make positive or negative movement, but will give response to touch in non directional way.
3.)Thermonastic movement :Thermo = temperature and nastic = non directional movement. When plant gives response in order to temperature. The leaves will give response to high or low temperature. During the high temperature, the leaves of plant will fall off and flowers will close their petals.
4.) Seismonastic movement :The response given by plant due to some mechanical stimulus such as shock, fast wind and touch etc. When plants bend due to fast or high wind, it is due to seismonastic mechanism.
5.) Nyctinastic movement :The nyctinasty movement of plant occurs in response to red light in day and far red light in night. This mechanism seen daily in plants according to light.

Questions and answers :
1.) What is nasty movement in plants ?
Answer :-Nastic movement can be defined as the non directional movement of plants in response to the external stimulus such as light and temperature.
2.) What are the types of nastic movement based on bend direction ?
