It had been raining for seven years. Thousands upon thousands of day filled from one end to the other with rain. The days were filled with the gush of water and endless showers. Heavy storms caused tidal waves to come over the islands. A thousand forests crushed under the rain, had grown up a thousand times to be crushed again. This was the way of life forever on planet Venus. Here was located the school-room of the children belonging t men and women who came by rockets from Earth. They set up a civilization in this raining world.

The Asian Games of 2022 in Hangzhou will see the return of the game of Chess after the Olympic Council of Asia decided to reinstate of sport in its games programme. Chess was a part of Asian Games 2006 in Doha and 2010 in Guangzhou. India won two gold medals at Doha, with Koneru Humpy winning the gold. In 2010, the Indian men won a bronze in the standard team event while D.Harika took the bronze in the women’s individual event.

Viswanathan Anand, five time world champion and India’s first Grandmaster, expressed his happiness over the inclusion of Chess in 2022 Again games. The All India Chess Federation vice president D.V. Sundar said it was very good news for the game and the players too and gave India chance to win medals. He also expected a team event and individual events to be part of the games.

The roots of trees attach the soil tightly and thus soil erosion will prevent. Not only this trees give us fruits, medicines, homes for birds and many more. Tree Plantation create an awareness regarding climate change and its adverse effect on us. There are lots of germs and bad molecules present in air. A huge number of trees reduces germs from the air and clean the environment also. The least we can do is plant a large number of trees to provide nature what we have taken from it.

Tree plantation, it is necessary to provide all the living things to live healthy and also our environment healthy.

Read the passage carefully and answer the following questions :

Tom always found Monday mornings to be miserable. Monday began another week’s slow suffering in school. Tom lay thinking. Presently, he wished that he was sick: then he could stay home from school. He investigated his body with the hope of finding some ailment. He thought that he had found symptoms of stomach trouble. He began to grow hopeful. However, the symptoms soon grew feeble and wholly went away. Tom thought further. Suddenly he discovered something. One of his upper front teeth was loose. He felt lucky. He was about togroan when it occurred to him that if Aunt Polly was to know she would surely pull it out and that would hurt.

Tom thought he would hold the tooth in reserve for the present. He remembered hearing from a doctor that a certain ailment could lay up a patient for three days and make him lose a finger. He eagerly drew his sore toe from under the sheet and held it up for inspection. He did not know the necessary symptoms. However, it seemed like a good chance. Tom fell to groaning. But his brother Sid slept on.

Tom groaned louder. He fancied that he began to feel pain in the toe. No response came from Sid. Tom then started a succession of groans. However, Sid snored on.

(4) Write a precis of the following passage:

My toothbrush is a thing that haunts me when I’m travelling, and makes my life a misery. I dream that I haven’t packed it, and wake up in a cold perspiration, and get out of bed and hunt for it. And, in the morning, I pack it before I have used it, and have to unpack again to get it, and it is always the last thing I turn out of the bag; and then I repack and forget it, and have to rush upstairs for it at the last moment and carry it to the railway station, wrapped up in my pocket-handkerchief.

Solution:

Whenever the author would be about to travel, he would get agony of forgetting to pack his toothbrush. He dreamt the last night before travelling day that he had not packed it. Then he would wake up from the sleep and go on to hunt for it.

In the morning, he would pack it before brushing his teeth and then he had to unpack again to get it and would repack, forgetting to put the toothbrush in again.

Afterthat, he had to rush upstairs to carry it. At the Last moment, he carry it wrapped up in his pocket handkerchief.

(5) Write an essay in about 250 words on Use of Internet service in Modern India.

Introduction

The word Internet was introduced by Vinton G. Cerf and it came into being in August 1991. The internet is a range of huge computer network which provides connection to several computers simultaneously. Internet has been our saviour from the years & we are directly and indirectly dependent on it.

Use of Internet Service in Modern Life

Now of days internet services are used in everywhere, from Online Education to Banking, Playing games, listening to music, learning cooking, checking weather update, shopping in every section it is used. We can and relax and our work is done with a few clicks in seconds. The uses of Internet are innumerable.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Internet

As we all know there are huge advantages of Internet in our daily life. But every things which have advantages also have disadvantages. Internet acts as the most important source of distraction for all. People get busy playing games, Chatting, exchanging pictures etc. Children & youngsters are mostly effected. Too much use of mobile & internet are extremely harmful for eyes &brain. The most dangerous aspect of Internet is Cybercrime & hacking.

Conclusion

Every things in our world having advantages as well as disadvantages. So we have to think always in positively. We have to take only advantage on it.  Internet if used in proper way can be extremely beneficial but it used in a Limitations.
