Question 2:
Find the area of quadrilateral ABCD.
(a) 11
(b) 10
(c) 9
(d) 12
Ans:
d = 4.5cm, h1 = 1.5 cm
h2 = 2.5cm, Area = ½ d (h1 + h2)
= 1/2 × 4.5 × (2.5 + 1.5) cm2
= ½ × 4.5 × 4 cm2 = 9 cm2 (c)
Question 3:
Find the area of rhombus whose diagonals area of lengths 8cm and 6cm.
(a) 20
(b) 24
(c) 22
(d) 21
Ans:
Area of the rhombus = ½ d1 d2
= 1/2 × 8 × 6cm2 = 24 cm2 (b)
Question 4:
The area of a rhombus 200 cm2 and one of the diagonals is 20cm find the other diagonals
(a) 10
(b) 12
(c) 14
(d) 8
Ans:
Area of rhombus = 1/2 d1 d2
200 cm2 = 1/2 × 20 × d2
200×2/20 = d2
d2 = 10 cm (a)
Question 5:
In a tower three are 20 cylindrical pillars. The radius of each pillar is 25cm and height is 8cm. Find the total cost of painting the curved surface area of all pillars at the rate of ₹10 per m2?
(a) 2512
(b) 2514
(c) 2500
(d) 2832
Ans:
Radius of cylinder pillar = 25cm = 0.25cm
Curved surface are of a pillar = 2rn
= 2 × 22/7 × 2.05 × 8 = 12.57
Curved surface area of 20 such pillar
cost of painting = 12.57 × 2
= 251.4
=10 × 251.4
= 2514₹ (b)
Question 6:
Find the height of a cylinder whose radius 9cm and the total surface area is 564 cm2
(a)
(b)
(c)
(d)
Ans:
Total surface area = 2r (h+r)
= 2 × 22/7 × 9 × (9 + h)
564 cm2 = 396/7 (9 + h)
3948/396 = 9 + h
9.9696 = h
h = 0.9696 cm
Question 7:
Find the side of the cube whose surface area is 2400 cm2?
(a) 20
(b) 22
(c) 24
(d) 28
Ans:
Surface area of the cube is = 2400/6 = a2
a = 20

Question 8:
A closed cylindrical box of radius 14m and height 2m is made from a sheet of metal. How much sheet of metal required?
(a) 198
(b) 178
(c) 156
(d) 176
Ans:
Area of closed cylindrical box
= 2rh
= 2 × 22/7 × 14m × 2m
= 2 × 22 × 2 × 2
= 176m2 (d)
Question 9:
Find the volume of cylinder if the area of base is 14m and the height is 9m?
(a) 126
(b) 144
(c) 169
(d) 225
Ans:
Volume of cylinder = Area of base × height
= 14m2 × 9m = 126 m3 (a)
Question 10:
If the area of base is 225 m3 and the volume of cuboid is 675 m3 then final the height?
(a) 4
(b) 3
(c) 9
(d) 6
Ans:
Volume of cuboid = Base area × Height
675m3 = 225m3 × h
h = 3m (b)
Question 11:
A Hall in the form of cuboid measures 40m, 20m, 10m. How many cuboi dal boxes can be stored in it in the volume of box is 2m3
(a) 6000
(b) 4000
(c) 2000
(d) 1500
Ans:
Volume of Hall = 40×20×10 = 8000m3
Numbers of boxes that can be stored in the hall = Volume of hall/volume of one box
= 8000 m3/2m3 = 4000 (b)
Question 12:
Find the surface area of cube if the length of the side is 12cm
(a) 896
(b) 849
(c) 864
