Motion , Force and Work |
1.)
(a) If a body travels a distance in direct proportion to the time, the speed of the body is constant.
(b) If a body is moving with a constant velocity it acceleration is Zero.
(c) Speed is a scalar quantity
(d) Velocity is the distance travelled by a body in a particular direction in unit time.
3.)
A | B | C |
Work | Joule | Erg |
0Force | Newton | Dyne |
Displacement | Metre | Cm |
4.)
Total distance the bird travelled during its flight
= 2(Distance between its sitting point and turning point)
∴ Its eventual displacement is Zero because its returns to its perch.
5.)
Force: Force is an energy of push or pull to displace any object Unite of force is Newton (N).
Work: Work is done by force to displace any object.
Work done by force = force * displacement
W = F * S.
Displacement: Displacement is the distance of any object of starting point or ending point by force.
Unit of displacement is metre (M)
Velocity: Velocity is the distance travelled by a body in a specific direction in unit time.
Velocity = (Displacement )/(Time required for displacement)
Acceleration: Changing of velocity by time is called acceleration
The unit of acceleration is m/
Distance: Total path covered by any object due to force in motion.
7.)
(a) Force (F) = 1000 N
Displacement (S) = 10m
Work done by car (W) = F * S
= 1000 * 10
= 10000 J
(b) Mass = 20 kg
Displacement (s) = 50 m
Force (F) = 2 N
: Work done by the force = F * S
= 2 * 50
= 100 J
