Novella is the word originated from Italian word ‘novelle’. Is the type of narrative fiction which is longer than short story and shorter than any full length novel. It can be satiric or realistic in the narrative tone which can be short in form yet fully well-structured. It tends to focus on one main incident or issue related to one or two characters in a single tradition.
iv.) Indian tradition of novels:
The most common feature of Indian novels is that it depicts either social issue or nationalistic virtues through the narrative verse. The main tradition of Indian English novel is that it registered a remarkable shift in global concerns from its inception.
