Pritha: No, I am actually upset, I wanted to tell you something.
Me: What happened, Is everything okay?
Pritha: Do you remember the last week’s incident in our class?
Me: Are you talking about Amit breaking the white board of our class?
Our class teacher and the principal as well, scolded him really bad for what he did.
Pritha: Yes, but it was not Amit who broke the white board, it was actually me. We were playing in the class during recess, me and some other class mates were running and Amit was trying to catch us and while while running I banged hard on the wall and unfortunately Ii directly went and hit the white board. When I realized, I was dumbstuck to see that it was all cracked. I got very nervous and Amit took all the blame upon himself.
Me: What? Whatever happened was really not good.
Pritha: I felt extremely guilty when our class teacher and the principal was scolding him and fined him and I was sitting there and just watching, whereas it was all my fault.
Me: It’s okay, atleast you realized that what you did was wrong. Breaking the white board was your mistake, but hiding it and getting someone else punished for your faults is actually a grave mistake.
Pritha: But now I feel bad for Amit and I am really feeling guilty. What should I do now?
Me: I think you should go and tell the truth to our class teacher and the principal as well. Confessing your mistake is the best thing you can do now. I am sure you’ll feel light at heart after confessing your mistake.
Pritha: Yes, you are right, I’ll do that only now. Thank you so much dear, I am feeling much better now after sharing it with you and thanks for your advice.
Me: You are always welcome Pritha. Now go to the class teacher and tell her everything what actually happened that day.
