Ans: – E-books are electronic books displayed or read on a computer. Again the printed books have texts, images etc. printed on paper and the pages are bound together. The words of the printed books stand still as they are printed on the pages. Whenever you flip the pages you to get to see the something written on the pages. On the other hand, the text keeps on changing on the screen. You have same screen for e-books in front of you, but the text keeps on changing.
(2) Why did Tommy declare the printed book “A waste”?
Ans: – Tommy declared the printed book “A waste” because he felt that whenever we complete reading a book, we have to throw it away. Again, in the case of printed book we cannot have some different story written on the same book. On the contrary, he felt that the computer screen was very good, because the same screen had shown him many books and still he could read many more on it. He would not have to throw that screen away when once he had read a particular story.
(3) How did Margie describe the computer?
Ans: – According to Margie computer is very huge and black in colour. It has a big screen and all the lessons appear on the screen and many questions are asked on the same screens which are difficult for Margie.
(4) Justify the little “The Fun they had”.
Ans: – The little of the story “The Fun They Had” by Isaac Asimov is fully justified because the story is all about the difference between the old schooling system and the virtual school of future 2157.Here the author wanted to express the fun real school always get the chance to be together, to get the same homework from the human teacher and solve it by discussing with other fellow mates. But the students of the virtual school are deprived from all these experiences. Learning form the machines they themselves are becoming machines. Through this story the author wanted to state the importance of the school as well as school days because this is the only place where we not only educate ourselves truly but also build our character and will become a proper human being.
