Labelled diagram of Blood Pressure

Blood Pressure Diagram: The force exerted on the walls of blood vessels is called blood pressure. This pressure is higher than blood vessels. The pressure of the blood inside the artery during ventricular systole is called systolic pressure on contraction, and the pressure in the artery during ventricular diastole is called the diastolic pressure . A normal resting systolic pressure is 120 mm Hg and diastolic pressure is 80 mm Hg. A device used to measure blood pressure is a sphygmomanometer. During this process a rubber cuff is inflated with air on arm to close the arm artery. If the pressure in the cuff is above 120 the sound is not heard in the stethoscope and if the pressure in the cuff is less than 120 the sound is heard in the stethoscope and if the pressure in the cuff is less than 80 the sound stops. High blood pressure in the body is also known as hypertension. This is due to the narrowing of blood vessels which increases resistance to blood flow. Most of the time, this causes damage to the artery or internal bleeding.
