Answer – The continent of South America is located in the western Hemisphere. The continent lies mainly in the Southern Hemisphere. A small portion is found in the Northern Hemisphere. The Equator and the Tropic of Capricorn, pass through the continent. It is inverted triangle in shape, broader in the north and tapers towards the south. Its latitudinal and longitudinal extant is 120 N to 560 S latitudes and 350 W to 810 W longitudes

Answer – There are 13 countries in this continent. Brazil is the biggest country of South America and French Guyana is the smallest country of South America.
4) Which is the highest waterfall of the world found in S.A? On which river it is formed?
Answer – Angel Falls is the highest waterfalls of the world found in South America. On Churn river it is formed.
5) Mention the important grass lands of South America.
Answer – The grasslands of South America were known as Uanos in Venezuela, Campos in Brazil, and Pampas.
6) Name the important plants and wild animals of S.A.
Answer – South America has a variety of wild animals, birds and reptiles. Giant tortoise, Anaconda, Puma, and Jaguar are the important wild animals in South America. Cotton, Sugarcane, cocoa, coffee are important plants in South America.
