Writing Work

Explain how war broke out between the empires of Blefuscu and Lilliput.

Answer: Reldressal tells Gulliver that there is a problem between two states, Blefuscu and Lilliput. The war began with a religious question that whether an egg should be broken at the bigger end or at the smaller end. There was an ancient practice of breaking an egg at the bigger end but since the emperor’s grandfather happened to cut his finger due to this practice, the new law was imposed to break the egg at the smaller end. Since the law was not accepted by many people, people turned into rebellions and escaped to Blefuscu. Many people lost their lives. In Blefuscu, the emperor gave them his sympathy and encouragement which in turn interfered in the internal affairs of Lillput.
