1.) What kind of life did the cat lead?
Answer –The cat, Louis, lead a luxurious life. He ate salmon and caviar, slept on a fluffy feather pillow beside the fire.
2.) Why did the cat feel a need to leave the comforts of the house?
Answer –The cat felt that a need to leave the comforts of the house because whenever he looked out of the window, he would see that other cats are romping freely in the slate roofs and rolling beneath the sun.
3.) In what ways was life on the tiles different from life in the house?
Answer –On the tiles life was very different from the life in the house. Life on the tiles may be blessed with freedom, sunshine, smell of nature but it was full of uncertainties. In the house there was enough food to eat, feather bed to sleep beside fire but in life on the tiles everything was uncertain.
4.) What advice did the tomcat give about meat on tables?
Answer –Tomcat advised Louis that meat on the table is not for cats like them. The had to wait the whole night for the garbage to appear When they could find food and eat them.
5.) What did the tomcat feel about life in a house?
Answer –The Tomcat feels that life in a house is for weaklings and it wasn’t meant for the free cats like him. He feels he would die with all those fluffy pillows and rich foods.
6.) What (according to the fat cat) was true happiness?
Answer –According to the fat cat the true happiness was in the house, where he might lack the freedom of outside but he would always get meat, salmon, caviar to eat and fluffy feather pillows to sleep beside fire place.

Write a paragraph about the main idea of the story using the following points:

Answer – Louis live luxurious life. He used to it salmon and caviar, and used to sleep in a feather bed beside the fire. But he was that satisfied with the life of luxury. You wanted to be free as the cats in the outside. Without outside was Paradise where he could wrong on the streets and roll in the sunlight. But he found out the life outside was very different from what he had expected. Outside cats live in a poor condition where they have to bear the cold at night, drink water from gutters, wait for the whole night to find food from the garbage. After spending some time outside, he realized that the main paradise is in the house where he would have fish and caviar all the time and sleep on a fluffy bed beside the fire. The Tomcat would never stay in a house because for him staying inside in the comfort is for weaklings.
