a) Solution:
Microsoft Word is also known as MS- Word which is a word processing software. It
is the part of the MS Office package suite. With the help of MS-Word, we can create the
documents with text and graphics. We can also make memos, letters, reports, fax, resumes, question papers, invitation cards, mailing labels, news letter etc. We can also add some shapes, image/ pictures, tables, clip art, border and apply shadings, graphics etc to it. We can even send one letter to more than one recipient.
b) Solution:
The different views to display a document are as follows-
i) Print Layout view:- This will display the document in simple manner as it will look after giving print command. It is by default view option in Writer. The pages in the document can be shown one by one, side by side or in book style manner. You can select the icon on the status bar to switch from one sub view to another sub view. You can also magnify the layout with the help of Zoom slider shown on Status Bar. By dragging the cursor towards +sign (increases the zoom in size) whereas dragging towards – sign (reduces the zoom out).
ii) Web layout view:- As compared to Print layout, there will be no existence of margin, bold and italic effect, justification in Web layout view Zoom and view layout are disabled. But for zooming document we can make use of the zoom slider that’s available in the layout view.
iii) Full screen view:- The bars such as Title Bar, Menu Bar and Status Bar are not
available when the document is viewed in Full screen mode. The document or page is been shown in a full screen. If you want, you can make the rulers visible, by enabling the option on.You can exit the full screen mode by pressing ESC key or you can press a key combination of CTRL+SHIFT+J.
iv) Outline :- In this view the outline part of the document is shown.
v) Draft view :- In this view, the document is shown in the drafted mode/version but without making use of graphics.
To view the zoom and layout dialog box, you can choose View tab and select Zoom option from the Menu bar.
c) Solution:
With the help of this feature, one can check for the editing and formatting changes
that has been applied within the document. When two or more persons/users are working on the same document. As we know that more than one users work on the same document, it is the need for us that who has made any changes like any of the content is deleted, added, formatted etc within the document. If any single changes is been made the content within the document, then it can easily tracked/checked. The track changes option is available under Review tab and Tracking group.
d) Solution:
Zoom in and Zoom out option/ slider that is available to you on the Status bar. On
the status bar which is just above the Task bar, you may see many functions like Page
numbers that are inserted in the document, total number of words in the document, Read mode, Print layout and a zoom slider. On the Zoom Slider, you can see + (plus) and – (minus) sign with a slider in between this two symbols. When we drag the slider on the left side or make a click on the – (minus) sign the page on the screen will be zoomed out (the text size decreases) whereas clicking on the + (plus) sign or dragging the slider to the right side will zoom in the text current displayed page (the text size increases).
e) Solution:
You can open a PDF file by using Adobe’s free Acrobat Reader and XPS format files
by using Microsoft’s XPS viewer.

Macro is the feature that is available under View Tab. This feature is used make a
single command by mixing together the series of action, which is used to save our time.
g) Solution:
Mail Merge helps the user to crate multiple envelops, letters, labels etc, by making
use of the information that is stored in a database/spreadsheet. Mail Merge is a feature in MS Word, where the user can sent the same letter to one than many recipients. It is used to group the data source (that contains the addresses of the recipients) in main document. Mail Merge helps in saving our a lot of time and energy that is been wasted in sending the same letter to multiple addresses by typing it separately.
