Ans: Yes, the story, “His First Flight,” is very relatable for it is about human tendencies and the fear of failing while taking a step forward in life. Just like the young seagull, we all fear a lot while doing something new in our life. But in the end, it is only courage and the will to win over our own fears that we succeed in our life.
ESSAY TYPE QUESTIONS
1.) Look at the story from a human’s perspective. Do you think that the young seagull’s fear was justified? What would you have done in case it was you in the seagull’s place?
Ans: Fearing to do completely new things is a human tendency, which justifies the fear of the young seagull. But to lead in life, we need to step up and work on our fears. In my opinion, the young seagull was not a coward but was just a little scared, as he had no trust over his wings, as he thought that they would never support him, and he would fall in the vast expanse of sea. But as soon as he fell into space accidentally, he flapped his wings to fly, as he always knew how to fly and came up flying high, making his family proud, and his fear vanished.
If I were at the seagull’s place, I would have had the same fear, and I would have taken some time to win over my fears. Unlike the young seagull, I would try to win over my fear, who accidentally fell over the edge and learned flying. It took him a great deal of time to take a plunge and conquer the sky.
