In the previous some chapters, we discussed about food, their sources, deficiencies and which animals eat which food. In this chapter we will study some interesting facts about nature’s best friend “Plants”.

So, lets quickly give answers of some questions.

1.) What are plants ?

Answer :-Plants are the living organisms having leaves, stem, roots, fruits.

2.) Do you know Plants breath ?

Answer : Yes plants breath by taking oxygen.

3.) Have you ever observed varieties in plants ?

Answer : Yes, there is huge varieties of plants.

4.) Can you name some plants with different varieties ?

Answer : Yes, fruit plants, flowering plants, vegetable plants.

Answer :-  Herbs are small sized plants with soft stem.

Answer :-Shrubs are the medium sized plants and woody plants.

Answer :-Trees are larger sized plants, with branches arising from ground.

Answer :- Rice, grass and coriander.

Answer :- Jasmine, tulsi and rose.

7.) What is the difference between herbs and shrubs ?

Answer :-Herbs are non woody plants and shorter than shrubs whereas shrubs are woody plants and smaller than herbs.

8.) What is the difference between shrubs and trees ?

Answer :- Shrubs are medium sized plants than trees, and having branches from stem while trees are taller plants and branches present from single stem.

9.) What is the difference between herbs and trees ?

Answer :- Herbs are smaller plants and trees are much longer plants.

Plants are living organisms which have different parts such as roots, stem, leaves, branches, fruits and flowers. It seems to be interesting that all plants are not similar. There is uncountable variety in plants. Some plants are flowering, giving fruits, vegetables, having medicinal uses, so the variety in plants is huge.

Classified according to their height. Some plants are very small in size, some are medium and others are large in size.

First we will discuss about, the plant herbs.

The herb is a small or short sized plant, non woody ( means not having wood) and green plants with stem do not have branches and the stems are soft or delicate. For example : Wheat, rice  and onion.

The Shrubs are medium sized plants, they are taller than herbs and shorter than trees. They are woody plants (plant having wood) and they have branches at their stem. For example :Tulsi, jasmine, rose and china rose etc.

Trees :Trees are larger sized plants, they are taller than both herbs and shrubs,  grow to a maximum height and generally very hard, and carries branches in the stem. For example : Palm,
