Computer which are connected to network can be with some wire or wireless. Computers can be connected to Internet by the popular means such as telephone lines, cables or satellite links. In other terms Internet is called as INTER connections and NET work. There are some rules which have to followed by the computers connected in a network. The rules and regulations for the smoothly functioning of the computers connected in a network are called as Protocol. FTP (File Transfer Protocol), Internet Protocol (IP), and Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) are some examples of such protocols. There are many computers connected in a network, so it’s unables for us to identify the computer. So the IP address is unique identification number for every computer connected in a network.

3) Define an IP address? What are the two different versions of an IP address?

Ans:-There are many computers connected in a network, soit’s unables for us to identify the computer. So the IP address is unique identification number for every computer connected in a network. It just acts like a roll number given to students in a class for their identification number. Computers use binary language for interaction and IP addresses are represented in it. IP address takes 32 or 128 bits. There are two types of IP addresses via are IP version 4  (IPv4) and  IP version 6 (IPv6).  IPv4 uses 32 binary bits to create a unique address on the network. IPv4 is represented by four numbers which are separated by dots. Each number is the decimal representation of eight digit binary number, it’s known as dotted decimal notation. Some computers have the extended versions of IP address as IP Version 6 (IPv6).

There are many web pages on the web which can be read by a computer program called as web browser.
