Women have always been illtreated and dominated in the society however this has changed as of today where women have achieved higher positions at their work places and been awarded for several achievements in the country.
Today women are given equal rights towards education, jobs and other facilities which were ignored before. This has helped them to self-sustain their lively hood instead on depending on their brothers or husbands.International women’s day is also celebrated, wherein women are recognised for their achievements and efforts, making them feel special and equal in the society. This will help and motivate them to part take in more activities and also help in sustainable development of the country.
Reduction in child marriages and child labour has also helped women focus on education needs and skill development, which make them self sufficient and are able to provide income and other basic needs to their families.Women population have been provided special security and other services, which has helped in reduction of crimes against women.
Women empowerment has led to gender equality, equal wage rates, equal right to education, increase in literacy among women. Previously men were the sole breadwinners in the household, this has changed to a large extent where women have today become the bread winners of the household.Women empowerment has been one of the best techniques of putting power into women’s hand to have respect in the society. Education of girl child has also become a priority in the society, leading gender equality.
Sustainable development in the country will reduce the poverty levels, will bring in good health and well-being, quality education, gender equality, clean water and sanitation facilities, affordable and clean energy, economic growth, development of industry and infrastructure etc. Sustainable development will also help limited use of natural resources and conserve these resources.
However, in spite of gender equality brought into force several village women still face loads of harassment and are being ill-treated and dominated by working men. Strick laws against women inequality must be enforced to ensure women have equal rights in the society. They are being stopped from attending education lessons or either being forced into child labour.
