Goa Essay: Vasco da Gama 1524 landed in Goa and was the first European to reach India through the Cape of Good Hop. Popularly called the Pearl of the Orient, Goa is located on the coastal plains of the west known as the Konkan coast. The smallest state of India, Goa has a remarkable scenic beauty. It was declared as the state of India having Panaji as its capital on 30th May 1987. This smallest state is mainly known for its exotic beaches, having all over fifty beaches. In addition, this smallest state has major contributions towards Indian tourism.

Previously Goa was popularly known as Gopakapuri, Gomanchala, Gopakapattam and Gopakapattana. Most people speak Konkani besides speaking Hindi and English for business and official work. The international airport which shares a significant connection with the state makes it an internationally recognised destination for enjoying leisure. As stated by the Department of promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, the FDI inflow in Goa was at US$118.98 million between June 2019 and June 2022. In addition, the state anticipates 5000 crore investments from the Goa 22 summit and also the creation of about 14,000 jobs.
