In this chapter we learned about electricity and electric circuit, how torch bulb starts to glow. This happen because of current which passing through a circuit. When material transfer anything by themselve from one place to another is called conductor. In an electric circuit we used metal wire, by using this wire we transfer electricity from cell to bulb and bulb to cell. So this wire is said to be conducting wire.
If there is no transfer of electricity from one place to another along with a material is called Insulator. The materials which used as an insulator is called insulator material. If we replace switch/key with insulator material like wood, plastic, elastic and non – metal then there is no electricity flowing though a circuit.
Activity
Create a groups in classroom. Give them some material like pen, chock, copper wire, piece of glass, iron needles, key etc. And told them to classified all these materials into Conducting material and insulatormaterial. Also note down from which materials electricity will be flow.

1 Can current pass from insulator be done? If not, give reasons.
No, because insulator does not have free electrons due to which current does not pass through it.
2 Does all metals are used as conductor?
Ans : Yes, all metals have good conductor of electricity.
3 What happens when conductor and insulator both are connected in circuit?
Ans : There is no flow of electricity through a circuit. Insulator does not electricity through it.
