Difference between Uses of Convex and Concave lens

Uses of Convex lens

1.) Convex lens has ability to produce convergence of refracted rays, due to which is used widely in optical instruments.

2.) Convex lens is used in microscope to converge the rays of light t specific points to see the micro organelles.

3.) To obtain the clear and image of object, rays from source are needed to focus hence convex lens are used.

4.) Lens in human eye is also a convex, which converges all the rays and focused them on retina to see the object.

5.) Person suffering from hypermetropia or far sightedness requires to converge the rays before falling on eye lens, so convex lens is prescribed to person by doctors.

Uses of Concave lens

1.) Concave lens has ability to produce divergence of refracted rays, due to which is used widely in optical instruments.

2.) Concave lens is torches and other similar instruments to distribute the light in all possible direction.

3.) Concave lens is used in peer hole of doors, which is used as safety device to see the person standing outside door before opening.

4.) Person suffering from myopia or near sightedness requires to diverge the rays before falling on eye lens, so concave lens is prescribed to person by doctors.

5.) Concave lens is used in binoculars to form virtual image of distant object.
