Uses of concave mirror
1.) Concave mirrors are used to produce convergence of reflected rays.
2.) For shaving or makeup purpose, concave mirrors are held close to face so that highly magnified image of face can be obtained, which helps us to make clean shave or perfect makeup.
3.) Dentist uses concave mirror with the help of which he can diagnose our problem by observing your mouth by holding a concave mirrors close to your mouth.
4.) For safe driving during night time we need sharp and focused beam of light, which can be obtained by fixing a bulb at centre of concave shaped silvered polished mirror.
5.) Concave mirrors are used in device like solar cooker, where the intensity of light is increased which helps to cook food faster, see the following diagram.
Uses of convex mirror
1.) Convex mirrors are used to produce divergence of reflected rays.
2.) Rear view mirror of vehicle is used to see road and vehicles running behind our vehicles, we need to fix a convex mirror of suitable size outside the vehicle.
3.) To increase the width of surveillance of CCTV’s they come with convex mirrors so that more area can be covered.
4.) Convex mirrors are also used in public parking which helps user to park their cars in the correct place by checking the vehicles behind their vehicle.
5.) In ATMs to see the person standing behind us, convex mirrors are fixed on the top of ATM machine.
