Difference between Total internal reflection and partial reflection
The total internal reflection and the partial reflection both are the interesting phenomenon in optics. Simply refraction is nothing but the partial reflection. When the light is enters from rarer medium to denser medium it get partially reflection this is know as partial reflection. In the total internal reflection the angle of incidence is greter than the critical angel then the incident ray is reflect back in the same medium this phenomenon is know as total internal reflection. In the total internal reflection the total light is reflected and thats why there is no loss of energy in the total internal reflection. In case of partial reflection the total light is not reflected and thats why there will be loss of energy. The total internal reflection takes place only when the light is passes from denser to rarer medium. The difference between total internal reflection and partial reflection is as follows.
