1. A domestic sewage or waste water of community from kitchen, bathrooms and lavatories are known as sewage. Or The liquid waste which is originated from the domestic waste The infrastructure which contains equipment, devices and appurtenances for the transportation, collection and pumping of sewage is known as Sewerage.
2. Waste water of sewage is mainly generated from kitchen, dishwashers, washing machines, bathroom and toilets. Sewerage contains drains, pipes and manholes which carry waste water and transports to the treatment plant of Sewage.
3. It is characterised with the help of rate of flow or volume, chemical constituents, bacteriologic status, physical condition and toxic constituents. Sewerage mainly includes various components such as combined sewer, simplified sewerage and storm drain.

Other kinds of sewer includes vacuum sewer and Effluent sewer.

4. Sewage or wastewater is divided into three type and are industrial sewage, domestic sewage and storm sewage. Sewerage system is divided into three types and ae separate system, combined system and partially separate system.
