Difference between Rutherford Atomic Model and Bohr’s Atomic Model
Before going to discuss the Rutherford atomic model and Bohr’s atomic model we will discuss about the discovery of Atom which is introduced by Jhon Dalton, his theory tells us that atom is invisible particle with no shape. But then there comes J J Thomson theory who introduce that there is nucleus in the Atom. Then there comes the theory of Rutherford atomic model who proposed that atoms consist of two components i. e a positively charged nucleus in the center of the atom and negatively charged electrons in the extranuclear part of the atom. Then there comes Bohr’s atomic model, According to Bohr’s theory nucleus contains protons and electrons are arranged in definite energy levels and revolve around the nucleus. Bohr’s atomic model has three postulates but it does not have any therotical proof. Difference between Bohr model and Rutherford model is that in According to the Rutherford model, electrons can revolve in any orbit around the nucleus. According to Bohr’d atomic model electrons can revolve in a definite shell.
