1. A single celled animals which are aquatic organisms and belongs to kingdom Protista are referred as Protozoa. Aeukaryotic aquatic organism which are plant-like organisms, lacking of roots, stem and shoots are referred as Algae.
2. These are animal-like organisms. These are plant-like organisms.
3. Protozoa do not contain cell wall. Algae contains cell wall which is composed of cellulose.
4. These are heterotrophs and cyst is the resting unit in protozoa. These are autotrophs and the spore is resting unit algae.
5. Chlorophyll is not present in the Protozoa. Chlorophyll is present in Algae.
6. Protozoa are single celled organisms and can ingest particles of food with the help of phagocytosis. Algae are single celled or multicellular organisms and can produce their own food material with the help of photosynthesis process.
7. Examples of Protozoa includes Euglena, Plasmodium, Entamoeba histolytica, Leishmania, amoeba, Paramecium. Examples of Algae includes Cynobacteria, seaweeds, red algae, green algae and brown algae.
