Difference between Newton and Kepler
Newton
1) Sir Isaac Newton (1642- 1727) was greatest physicist and mathematician whose tremendous contribution in mechanics and calculus lead the many inventions of modern science.
2) Newton studied the mechanics, and gives the illustration of motion in detail in his famous laws of motion.
3) Newton stated three laws for explanation of motion and derived the formula for the force as, force= mass × acceleration.
F = ma
4) Newton has explained the mathematics behind Kepler’s laws of planetary motion and gave an extra ordinary contribution in explanation of Gravitational force.
5) Latin word ‘gravitas’ means weight of body. He proposed the theories of gravitational force in the concept of ‘gravity’.
Kepler
1) Sir Johannes Kepler (1571- 1630) was greatest physicist, astronomer who is remembered for his exuberant concepts about the planetary motion.
2) Kepler studied the planetary motion on proposed three laws forward which are the basics for Newton’s law of gravitation.
3) Kepler describes the motion of planet and the orbit of planets around the sun, and gave idea of elliptical orbit of planets around the sun.
