2. The culturing of marine fish varieties in the sea water is a Mariculture. Breeding, rearing, and harvesting of flora and fauna in freshwater is an Aquaculture.

4. Mariculture is divided into four types and the types are crustacean culture, mollusc culture, finfish culture and marine plant culture. Aquaculture is divided into four types and the types are Mariculture, Algaculture, open-net pen and cage system, and fish farming.
5. Mariculture is essential for the food, economic, and social welfare. Aquaculture is required for the coastal protection, climate moderation, oxygen generation and seafood.
