Difference between Infrared and visible rays

The infrared rays and visible rays are the types of electromagnetic radiation. Infrared rays and visible rays are nothing but just radiations of different intensities or we can say different intensities of light. Infrared light lies between the visible and microwave portions of the electromagnetic spectrum. Infrared light cannot be seen but it can be feel in the form of heat. Infrared rays are used for the night vision. Infrared rays lie between the visible light and microwave region. Any hot object or body emits the infrared rays. Infrared rays are able to travel trough vaccum. Visible rays are the only electromagnetic rays which we can seen by the human eye. The wavelength range of this infrared radiation is longer than that of visible light therefore it is not seen by human eyes. Infrared radiation can be abbreviated as IR radiationThe normal frequency range for this radiation is 430 THz to 300 GHz. Both infrared rays and visible rays has many applications. The difference between infrared rays and visible rays is as follows.

                         Infrared rays  Visible rays
1) Infrared light rays cannot be seen but it can be feel in the form of heat.

2) The wavelength of the infrared rays is 400 – 400000 nm.

3) The infrared rays have two frequency 4× 1014 Hz to 7.5× 10-11  Hz.

4) The infrared rays have the larger frequency.

5) The infrared light rays are created by IR LEDs.

1) The visible rays can be seen and also feel in the form of heat.

2) The wavelengths of visible rays lie between 380 – 740 nanometers.

3) The visible rays have frequency 4 × 1014 to 8 × 1014 Hz.

4) The visible rays have short frequency than infrared rays.

5) The visible light rays are created using LEDs.
