1. Essential amino acids cannot be produced in the body, essential amino acids need take from the diet are known for essential amino acid. Non-essential amino acids are already synthesized by the body and no need to take these amino acids from diet.
2. Essential amino acids should be taken from the daily diet. Non-essential amino acids can be prepared by the human body.
3. Total nine essential amino acids are unable to synthesize by the adults. Total eleven amino acids are able to synthesize by the adults.
4. Essential amino acids are also called as indispensable amino acids. Non-essential amino acids are also called as dispensable amino acids.
5. Sources of essential amino acids are vegetable proteins, eggs, chicken and meat etc. Non-essential amino acids are produced by the body from carbohydrates.
6. Examples of essential amino acids are Histidine, leucine, isoleucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, threonine, tryptophan and valine. Examples of non- essential amino acids are alanine, arginine, asparagine, aspartic acid, cysteine, glutamic acid, glutamine, proline, serine and tyrosine.
