Definition

1. A mucous membrane which gives site for development of placenta and lines uterus is referred to as Endometrium. A muscle tissue which give muscular movement to the uterus is referred to as Myometrium.

Uterus

2. This part is a mucous membrane that lines uterus. This part is muscle tissue of uterus which is smooth.

Functions

3. This part is responsible for giving a site for the development of placenta and for the implantation of blastocyst. This part is responsible during parturition which provided muscular movement to the uterus.

Layers of the parts

4. The endometrium is divided into three layers i.e. stratum spongiosum, stratum compactum, and stratum basalis. The myometrium is divided into three layer i.e. crisscrossing muscle, longitudinal muscle and circular muscle.

Composed Of

5. This portion is composed of endocrine glands, simple columnar epithelium and connective tissue. This portion is composer of smooth muscles.
