Difference between Electric field due to sphere and cylinder
Electric field due to sphere and Electric field due to cylinder are the applications of gauss law. If we have Gaussian surface like sphere shape having radius r, then the electric field on the sphere surface has the equal magnitude at each and every point of the sphere which is directed in outward direction.
Electric field due to sphere | Electric field due to cylinder |
1) The electric field due to charged sphere at a point outside the sphere is equal to the field of a point at the centre of sphere.
2) The expression for electric field outside the sphere is : E = Q/4πԑo r2. 3) The expression for electric field inside the sphere is: E=Q/4πԑo r3.
