1. A unit which is smallest and can perform life functions is referred as cell. The collection of cells which have similar structure and can perform common physiological function is referred as Tissue.
2. Cells are present in the unicellular organisms. Tissues are absent in the unicellular organisms
3. Cells are present in both multicellular organisms and unicellular organisms. Tissues are present only in the multicellular organisms.
4. Cells are composed of organelles and cells are microscopic. Tissues are composed of cells and tissues are macroscopic.
5. Cell mainly includes following components: genetic material, cytoskeleton, cell membrane and organelles like nucleus, endoplasmic reticulum and mitochondria etc. Tissue mainly includes following components: similar types of cells and these perform specific function.
6. Cells are responsible for performing functions such as reproduction, growth and metabolism in the body. Tissues are responsible for performing unique functions in the body.
7. Cells are mainly classified into two types and are eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells. Tissues are mainly divided into following types: epithelial tissue, muscular tissue, vascular tissue, connective tissue, adipose tissue and nerve tissue.
